Rebecca & Van had organised their wedding in only a few weeks. In fact I only met Rebecca an hour before the wedding! Normally I like to get to know the couple as much as I can before a shoot, I prefer to feel more like a guest with a camera than the official photographer! The better you can get to know your clients the more relaxed the photography can be.
Having said that, they both made me feel VERY welcome and it wasn't long before I was being asked if I would like to sit down and join them for dinner at the reception! They are such a great couple with a great family around them.
We spent the afternoon at the grand Hamilton Town House registry office and enjoyed their reception, hosted by Rebecca's uncle, at the Bothwell Bridge hotel. Rebecca's uncle put on an amazing 'spread' for them!
Rebecca and Van are both from Greek Cypriot families and many had traveled form Cyprus to join them. And they know how to party! The Greek style dancing was so much fun!
Thank you so much for allowing me to join you in photographing your day. I had a great time and was made to feel very welcome (despite the fact that half the wedding party didn't speak English!)
I love big family weddings with loads of kids. I have a few favorite images of the 'wee ones' dancing and enjoying the camera at the reception. You can see them having their fun in the slideshow below.
