Strictly Cabaret!!!!!!!

I wasn't sure what to expect when i was invited to photograph the Strictly Cabaret charity show held at the Easterbook Hall in Dumfries but I was totally blown away by the show!

The talent this local event showcased was amazing!

The show was organised and hosted by Patsy & Michael Pattie with 9 acts to raise funds for 9 charities. Everything from Calamity Jane to Grease and Thriller!

Take a look at the the slideshow above and you'll get an idea just how great the performances were.

I have arranged with Patsy & Michael to provide professional quality prints of the images from the show. All proceeds from the sale of prints will be donated to the 9 charities for which the cast was so generously raising funds.

So if you know anyone that was in the show, or anyone who you think might like a print then please forward them a link to the galleries below.

Order forms are available to download from the 'shopping basket' icon on each gallery. They are also available from Patties of Dumfries where the completed forms should be handed in and payments made.

If you have ANY questions about ordering prints please do not hesitate to get in touch at craig@imagehindsight.co.uk

I'll post how much we have managed to raise from the sale of prints in a few weeks.

Thanks for checking it out.

Rebecca & Van

Rebecca & Van had organised their wedding in only a few weeks. In fact I only met Rebecca an hour before the wedding! Normally I like to get to know the couple as much as I can before a shoot, I prefer to feel more like a guest with a camera than the official photographer! The better you can get to know your clients the more relaxed the photography can be.

Having said that, they both made me feel VERY welcome and it wasn't long before I was being asked if I would like to sit down and join them for dinner at the reception! They are such a great couple with a great family around them.

We spent the afternoon at the grand Hamilton Town House registry office and enjoyed their reception, hosted by Rebecca's uncle, at the Bothwell Bridge hotel. Rebecca's uncle put on an amazing 'spread' for them!

Rebecca and Van are both from Greek Cypriot families and many had traveled form Cyprus to join them. And they know how to party! The Greek style dancing was so much fun!

Thank you so much for allowing me to join you in photographing your day. I had a great time and was made to feel very welcome (despite the fact that half the wedding party didn't speak English!)

I love big family weddings with loads of kids. I have a few favorite images of the 'wee ones' dancing and enjoying the camera at the reception. You can see them having their fun in the slideshow below.

Kerry & Howard

What a great wedding!!!!!!

I love those weddings where all your close friends are there! We all had a blast!

Kerry & Howard were so amazing to photograph and really allowed me to experiment a bit. I'm so grateful to you for allowing me to capture your big day! We got some killer shots guys!

I loved this shoot! I was shooting right from the make up at 0930 in the morning to the well into the night. Just the way I like it :)

Despite being shattered by this time it didn't stop me changing into my kilt, catching up at the bar and dancing the night away with a great crowd.

We had a ball guys! Thank you so much for a great day.

Please check out the slideshow below to see the day in full.

Easterbrook Wedding Fayre

Check out the the images below from a recent wedding fayre at the Easterbrook Hall in the beautiful Crichton grounds at Dumfries.

There some great wedding suppliers and photographers in our area.

The Easterbrook Hall hosts it own wedding fayre 3 times a year. It has some cracking function suites and of course it's real trump card is the amazing cathedral style church set in wonderful park surroundings. And no I'm not on commission! I grew up across the road from the Crichton and have spent a few excellent days at some friends weddings at the Easterbrook Hall.

The show had a full catwalk with professional models showing bridal gowns etc as well as various stalls from wide range of wedding suppliers.

Take a look at the lovely bridal gowns on the slideshow below.

I'll post some links to some of the suppliers when I get their info.

They're gettin' hitched!! :)

Kerry & Howard are getting hitched!

They are such a great couple and I can't wait till their big day in December at the beautiful Crichton church in Dumfries. I am very honoured that they asked me to photograph their wedding day and being such a cool pair they have some great ideas for the photography on the day.

We were all at a recent wedding fayre in the Crichton when Kerry, Howard and I took a quick wonder round the grounds for a few engagement shots. You can see just how great they are together.

The idea of an engagement shoot is to just have a bit of fun and a great way to get to know the couple better before the big day. This can really help the couple relax a bit in front of the camera and help them enjoy their big day more. Only thing is I CHEATED!!! Kerry and Howard are already great friends of ours! :)

Click on each image to take a better look and check back in the new year to see some shots from the big day. It's going to be a blast!!

First blog!!!!!!

Well here it is. My first post!

A great way to share my journals, favourite moments from recent shoots, slide shows (once I've worked out how to upload them!) and just a better way of getting to know me.

It's also a good place for me to put stuff up until the shiny new website is up in the new year. It's looking' very cool so far and I can't wait to get it out there.

I have a passion for wedding photography and 'catching the moment'. Something that isn't just nice to look at but something that provokes a thought, a feeling, a smile or even a tear!

It's a HUGE privilege to be involved in any wedding day. The months of excitement and preparation that's put into it all can fly by all too fast on the day! it can be very rewarding to present the detail, the love, fun and tears of the day in a storybook or slide show. Something that, in years to come, will always take you back to that day.

Besides, it great fun! (but don't tell anyone)
